About Us

 Who Are We?

In a nutshell:
The California State Council of SHRM (CalSHRM) is the oversight body and organizational liaison between the 18 local SHRM chapters throughout the state of California and SHRM headquarters in Alexandria, VA.  Each local chapter President is a voting member of the council and together with State Council Directors and Executives, champion statewide initiatives and strategies that support the profession and the local communities each chapter serves.

Membership in a SHRM affiliated chapter means access to a local network of HR and business professionals, as well as professional-development programs, products and services in your community that can broaden your skills and make you more valuable to your organization.

The value: At CalSHRM, we believe that our professional community of more then 20,000 SHRM members and 150,000 plus HR practitioners in the state have a unique voice and can affect change in California employment through One Voice.

Whether an HR professional, office manager, supervisor, or business owner, if the responsibilities of your position require the management, direction and development of people, CalSHRM and the 18 local SHRM chapters are in your community to help and bring value to your organization.

Our advice: Maximize your opportunities by becoming a member of SHRM and an affiliated chapter in your area. It’s a winning combination that pays for itself in no time!
